Here is the current Jury information 2011

Please read this information carefully. Your evaluation decides who will be the next Champion.

On the day of the event we ask you to respect the time schedule and be on time for your registration and the following inauguration. Appearing on time according to the posted time schedule is the only way to ensure your position as a judge. If you for some reason appear too late, we might be forced to decline your help at the event, and instead select those spare judges who are on the waiting list. We ask for your understanding, but we have to ensure that there are enough judges for the different tasks.

As a judge you have to be in such a condition that you can taste all the dishes you are requested to award points to. It is a must that you stay objective and set scores in a fair spirit.

At the event you will get a proper education and solemnly be sworn in. As you award your points you are not allowed to speak to any one else, nor to drink alcohol since it affects your palate. Do not participate if you have food allergies, we can not guarantee your safety.

At some occasions you will sit at the table by the teams, enabling you to get a close experience of what barbecue is all about. The teams will naturally care and serve you very intensely. At these occasions you have the possibility to ask questions and get everything explained to you. But do not let this influence your judgement.

At other occasions you will be part of the blind jury where you will be tasting dishes without knowing whose team has prepared them. Peculiarities of the dish might be explained to you in a neutral manner by the team.

Please remember at all times, that at this event the fun and the team always should come first, there are teams who have travelled a great distance, and have put in a major effort. So if you are in doubt always judge in favour of the team!!

During your education the score-sheet will be explained to you and you will receive the time schedule, please respect it and be punctual. The teams expect you to sit at their table according to the schedule.

It is of the outmost importance that you turn in your judge-sheet as soon as you have finished tasting. The faster you turn them in, the faster we can count the points and the earlier we can start the prize giving ceremony.

Regarding hygien we have decided on the following rules:

The teams are restricted to work in a clean and hygienic manner. Since there are conflicting opinions regarding the wearing of gloves, it is not mandatory. Are gloves not used it is of outmost importance that they have clean hands and nails. Smoking is strictly prohibited at the event. Long hair shall be put in a pony-tail or to be kept in a hairnet.

If you see any misconduct regarding hygiene we ask you to immediately turn to our head judge and explain the situation. If there are disparities the team will get a score penalty.

At the end of the event we ask you kindly to check out at the information stand.
